My Story
Sarah was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She grew up swimming and diving, as well as playing soccer, tennis, and softball. She had a major accident at a young age which resulted in multiple procedures and a prolonged recovery, and credits this experience for her deep commitment to learning how to move better and live without restriction or pain.
She fell in love with strength training after being introduced to it in 2006. Her journey of rehabilitation has led her to study a variety of movement modalities from Pilates to Powerlifting. She pays special attention to joint mobility and stability as a foundation to building strength, and brings an awareness of the emotional and psychological components of working with injuries or restrictions.
She has NASM certifications in weight loss and nutrition. Her own personal experience of postpartum and childhood weight loss coupled with a love of healthy baking and cooking means she can offer support in both of these areas as well.
Sarah likes to say that the sport she is training for is life. In addition to building strength, she wants to help her clients move better and feel freer and more at home in their bodies. She believes in building routines that feel both challenging and supportive and that carry over from the gym to make everyday routines easier.
